Want Some Candy?by DefyTimeComment: This image will attract the bell curve because it departs slightly from the intent of the portrait. My vote is on the higher end of the curve because the artistic presentation is appreciated. This image creates a dark sensation of something associated with the sinister. This communication aspect is one of the main goals of art. Bumping up. |

Inner spiritby nico_blueComment: This is an image that quickly graduates into the artistic genre. While not a portrait, it is a very creative presentation with lighting that creates an immediate mood of darkness and mystery. A very good effort. Bumping up. |

Self Portraitby edc1Comment: Usually the eyes are eagerly sought in a portrait, however, in this case the downward gaze with eye lids covering most of them, works so well simply because gaze supports the pensive general expression down to the slightly tightly pursed lips. Even a softer background would have been better to maintain attention on the facial feautures. While the lighting is not as dramatic as the expression, the overall effect meets the challenge well. These observations are all minor in comparison to the general insight that this image portrays. Bumping up. |

simplicityby WinterbergComment: Ah yes,Dark, light, dark, light. Like a soothing wave passing over the attractive feautures with the eyes carrying the heavy expressive projection. The mouth and lips are very well expressed with higlights that play on the tip of the nose and then makes the lips glisten. The values are very well represented in their respective zones and the entire image including twirling hair, frock, hat and background all help create a keen and colorful character study. Sirenby SonifoComment: Everybody loves a siren. Good overall tonal values and while I am not crazy about the oval fade out, the image has enough charm because the facial features are prominent in a very friendly manner and the hair supports all this alacrity. Bumping ip. |

Grandma-Mother- Friend- that's meby trainComment: A very friendly and warm smile with gaze dead on to the lens. Perhaps the white fade out is too sudden and possibly extended which makes me contemplate a tighter crop. However, the image is well lit and the smile very appealing. Bumping up. |

It's Probably Meby arnitComment: Funny. The well focus eye radiates that jocular state which then is supported by fist and twirl in mouth. A good tiltle also. Bumping up. |

iby HomunculusComment: A very cool layout with interesting face angle, a great stare into camera from the 3/4 facial position. The hair plays well to frame the head and then even the shirt participates along with the well matching background. An image to be very proud of. Bumping up. |

Profileby kellianComment: Very appealing with great shadow tones that breathe. The accented side lighting adds zest and vigor. The facial expression are sweet and the background adds a good ambience. A very good study. Bumping up. |
