Golden Gate Bridge and Sutro Towerby faidoiComment: Ah! I just returned today from SF. I wish I had gone one week earlier. It was overcast and rainy the whole time! Great angle and perspective in addition to everything else there is to like about this shot. I hope it does well. |

Seven Rays of Lightby neehaiComment: Wow I think you got robbed here. Still a strong finish but I was hoping this would ribbon. There are about 9 rays of light here, but I say who cares?? This is just an amazing shot. Certainly does not deserve 4 1's and 5 2's. Good luck! |

Spherical reflections by anirenoComment: Originally posted by samtrundle: Okay the setup here is ridiculous, I scored you a 7 during the challenge, but clearly without stopping to think about how challenging the creation of this photo must have been.
If I had thought it through you would have got a 9 or a 10 from me.
I would apologise, but you've got a blue ribbon for your troubles, so I don't think you are feeling particularly horrible about it.
Congratulations on a brilliant effort. |
Congratulations, anireno! My sentiments perfectly mirror what samtrundle already said. On more consideration, I agree that this was quite an impressive and creative setup. Good luck! |

974 Special (circa 1931)by snackwellsComment: Thanks for your votes, everyone. I agree this is old, and I consider this low tech in the sense that the pocketwatch is nowadays superceded by the wristwatch, and the mechanical movement used in this watch, the lever escapement, has long since been superceded by the quartz and more recently the atomic movement.
To those who believe this to be high tech...I can certainly understand your point of view. The basic concepts behind the workings of mechanical movements have not changed much since the introduction of the lever escapement. It's used to this very day.
I was simply trying to portray the fact that pocketwatches are considered 'quaint' and the mechanical movement has been trumped by both quartz and atomic timepieces for accuracy in timekeeping. |

5AM, 5 Doughnuts = Fat Stomachby snackwellsComment: Thanks for your votes, everyone. I rushed this one and didn't get it the way I would have liked, plus my friend didn't want me to take more than a few tries. But I don't mind the low score, it was all in good fun haha. |

Berriesby KonadorComment: Needs a deeper DOF. Loss of focus on your seven berries. |

Red Maple at Night by rd_325Comment: Sharp, focused, well exposed. Excellent color saturation Artistically a well framed shot. I prefer the black backdrop against which you shot your subject. Fits the challenge theme nicely. |
