Puppy Loveby L1Comment: Excellent shot on artistic and technical merits. Excellent detail and the expression on the child and chihuahua match very well. Quite a feat. |

Wonderingby vcosmaComment: This is unfair. This kitten wins the blue ribbon for 'cutest animal in contest'. Oh, by the way, this is my top pick for the ribbon. Well done! 10 |

Vigilanceby spreadcomComment: Studio light in the photo...intentional I imagine. Perhaps child is using time between shoots to catch up on his favorite book. In any event, excellent lighting and other technical aspects (i.e. exposure, focus, DOF, detail) well handled. Colors are a little bit muted. A quick boost in saturation could have cured that. |

[ she, its hot dog, and its friend ]by jrgarciaComment: Excellent photo. Very sharp, colors well balanced. I don't mind this type of border, but you should have created an equal width, uniform border. The inner blue border is not of uniform width...the top side is one pixel thinner than the sides and bottom. A photoshop trick that many people use is to select the appropriate background color and increase the canvas size by the width you want the border to be. In this case, you could have first selected blue, then increased the canvas size by 3 pixels all around. Then select white, and again increase border by increasing the canvas size. |

The Kissby smoon273Comment: Priceless moment. This fits the challenge about as perfectly as I can imagine. Lighting was not quite well handled here, a bit harsh as it seems the majority of the lighting was a fill flash emitted by the camera. Still, an excellent entry. |

This Kissby ejonesComment: Priceless moment captured. The border was not necessary. |

Why My Mouse Won't Workby cloudsmeComment: Hi there. I think this photo deserved better, much better. Judging from the comments, it seems the point may have eluded many voters...either that, or they're not around children very much. :-)
When I see a toddler teething with a mouse, first thought that pops into my mind is, there goes the mouse. |

Guilt by Associationby davidbedardComment: The proof, as they say, is in the pudding! Clever execution and overall well composed here.
Suggestion for improvement: the green tree 'branch' is somewhat subdued. A quick hue/saturation adjustment to adjust the saturation of the green channel would give this image more pop and match the excellent saturation in the rest of the photograph.
Overall a very refreshingly creative entry. Well done. |
