Sunriseby agwrightComment: Doesn't quite have the same color saturation. A shame, because I really like this a lot. You could have easily matched Dan's colors with a quick levels/hue/saturation modification in Photoshop, after cleaning up the image a bit with a noise removal tool (which you may not have access to, so I won't hold that against ya). |

cutie poodyby leifurComment: Is that a stuffed animal? It's out of focus, which I fear was not your intention. Statue does not qualify here as a person which is the object of the pet's affection, as the challenge rules mandate. |

kindnessby anjaComment: Not sure what you're trying to do with this photograph. The fact that the dog is looking away doesn't help. Lighting is too harsh on the fur and shadows too prominent, and the hand being in the shadows escapes attention, which judging from your title, is not a good thing. |

A Bird In The Hand...by MomofjoyComment: ...is worth two in the bush elsewhere. Here, it'll score you poor I'm afraid. Camera's autofocus can be quite quirky at times. In this instance, it appears that the focus was missing in action. I recommend taking a shot, quickly checking for the important issues: focus, exposure, color balance, and framing. Then reshoot as necessary. It's a digital camera, there's no reason to settle for a poorly executed shot.
I'm not sure what resolution your camera is capable of. You should try to submit an image that is around 600-640 pixels on the long edge so you can take full advantage of the image size. This means that as long as you aren't using a cheap webcam, or a sub-megapixel camera, you should not have trouble resizing your image to this size. I hope you do well in your future entries. |

All is good in my world (the dogs world)by SNAP1Comment: This image suffers from a lack of resolution which I suspect is more an issue with the hardware than the photographer. Consequently this image suffers from a lack of detail and sharpness. I think you had an interesting subject to begin with, and added a good title. The execution was hampered by technicalities inherent in your camera. |

Bovineby charliebakerComment: Wow. This is quite interesting. Toy figurines and their toy pets. Quite unique in this challenge. However, this photo doesn't quite fit the challenge. |

Man's Last Friendby byshenComment: Although this appears to be staged, it is a powerful image nonetheless. The dog is stoically by her master's side, for better or for worse. Excellently composed.
One suggestion for improvement. Care should be taken not to over sharpen as there are significant artifacts in the blades of the grass as well as the sign as a result of extreme edge sharpening. |
