Opera House Christmas1.jpgby brettt83Comment: nice angle and composition, my only critique would be that the photo seems to be leaning towards the right and the text is alittle pixellated., but love the bridge in the background |

pic000.jpgby Shmoe345Comment: an amazing photo! I may try cropping some of the top off as I think it may help the composition, but I like this shot alot. |

Casino Royaleby SamDoe1Comment: Okay I think the shot you are referencing has a wider angle lens then the 50 mm lens you used. I would try the same shot with your 28-75 and shoot at 28 mm to help give you some more perspective. Even with that lens you would be shooting at 2.8 instead of 1.8 wided open and would help with the abrupt blur that others have mentioned. To me it looks like the movie shot had two main lights, maybe three. One above his head to the right, one above the gun to cast the shadow(this maybe be the same light) and another behind hitting his head and one on the wall. The one behind his head I think would have helped seperate you from your background. So maybe bounce one light off the ceiling which would have put some light on the wall. If you really had time make a reflector out of aluminum foil and somehow position itto be aimed at you and shoot the lash at that so the light isn't quite as direct, maybe too much work :). and another just off camera on the right to add accents to your hair and jacket. Maybe find a a gray wall, to not give such a studio look? Hope this helps a bit. |
