who drew the line for the salesman?

the salesman is not happy, he has many things to sell, you know everything is 20-60% off storewide and he is a man who takes his job seriously. He was head down and on a mission to pick up goods, time is money is his mantra and business is moving at break neck speed, in the back of his head he knew putting up a few more balloons outside would help him with sales this day. He looks up... who the fuck put this bus in the in MY loading dock!?! It is obvious some moron has parked in the no parking/loading zone area, the salesman is pissed and contemplates how he is going to do bodily harm to the driver of said van if he does not move immediately, maybe a swift kick to the crotch, maybe slash his tires but he realizes that this would only impede his own progress and would only make him more upset. In this instant he decides his red tie is no longer the lucky charm it used to be...

Afternoon Stroll in the Snow

Greetings from the Critique Club
My first reaction to this shot I notice the good use of selective desaturation and the red running through the image. Second I looked harder for a point of interest that ties the subject into the scene somehow and I don't see that as much. The reds show a continous theme but most likely doesnt have enough interest to get higher votes. When I think of street photography I like to see something unexpected or a play between the subject and its environment. That is just my personal opinion.

I really like the snow through the shot, although as commented already, with your choice of editing the snow seems to blend into the desaturated areas and could be missed by those quick viewer/voters. I really like the editing and although many of the whites are bright and black very dark I feel it was the best choice for this image, the subject is really well placed and are a strong focus in the image. The pole on the right really give a nice natural border.

I wish the edge of the truck was not cut off, if it wasn't saturated I think it would have been less of an issue for me, but since it is the largest colored object in the scene, it was probably dinged a point by most voters IMO. If I was shooting this person I may have waited to try som alternate shots of what she does, maybe crossing the street to see a different background, or get some more action, or just to see what else comes up.
I hope this helps out somewhat and if you have any questions or comments feel free to send me a PM :)
Joe
