Eye to Eyeby ryandComment: what a great first entry! I think if you had rotated it a smidge to straighten the eyes to the horizon it would have broke 6. :) |

Captivatingby ryandComment: I think this is a good portrait and I don't mind the feet. I think getting closer would have helped, or had her stand a few feet from the wall. I notice when that close to the background it is hard to get any separation and models seem to blend. Also I don't think the lighting is that harsh although some of her face has strong shadows. What I use is a piece of foamcore covered in aluminum foil. If you put this just out of the frame on the right, it would bounce some light onto her face and soften the shadows. That lens you used is great for portraits, dont be afraid to get close and use a large aperture like 2.0 or less, :) Personally I think this should have scored higher. :) |

Eagle Eyesby ryandComment: this is excellent, the spot on focus at the eye is great, and thats a pretty steady hand to hold that lens still :) |

Crosswalkby ryandComment: I like the shot as is but I think for FS entries to score well you need to get everything spot on and have something of interest that appeals to the most people. I really liked this shot because it looked like it was almost a negative image taken during the day and converted to black and white. If I did anything to it I would have cropped off the bottom like this. Don't worry about the score, they will come, besides it looks like you followed this up with a PB. :) |

Storybook Castleby aberrationComment: nice blend of natural and electric light. Maybe a little too dark since the house is in shadow. |

Fairytopia by JudiComment: this will be by the top of the pack for sure. Very cool colors and infrared work. Reminds of Judi's IR portraits. |
