Not as much as I would want to be... these three shots were made on the same flight :). |

Get out my faceby bohemkaComment: Ohh, this dof is playing with my focus :). I suppose you opened the lens all the way to 2.8. Fantastic clarity on his head and still some structure in the blurry part. Great image. I'm thinking that maybe I would darken the out of focus part, just to lead the eye to the eye (of the lizard :). |

Blue Tideby dafletchrComment: Wow, great scene, what a fantastic formation and a perfect moment to take the shot. If I processed this I would probably close in on the birds, but it's so great the way it is. |

Pepper by Silent-ShooterComment: Congratulations on the well deserved ribbon with this breathtaking recreation. It's like you've found Weston's hidden notes on the Pepper image, this is so perfect. I was trying to get the same result but gave up too early. Very inspiring and a lot to learn, thank you for sharing the technique.
Also - big congrats on your first ribbon! All respect to the first two, but I think this should have been the blue as a crown to this fantastic challenge.

Alice: Through the Looking Glassby sjhulsComment: Good remake of this idea. Maybe it's the other photo I've seen, that makes me think that the area surrounding the frame should be warmer. Also the DOF, maybe the trees make it a little busy. But overall I like it a lot. |

Distant Shoresby sjhulsComment: Amazing scene. I guess this is the same image? I think there is some noise in the sky and in the water too (look just above the rocks), probably you went too low with a channel (blue or cyan?). You could try fixing it with a control point, without disturbing the rest of the image. The white looks perfect for me, shiny and in motion.
To be honest, I would have gone with the b&w... but then you're the one scoring ribbons :-) - congratulations, you're doing great! |
