Well, this was one of my ideas for fine arts, but another one of my ideas actually turned out better. I didn't want to waste a good shot. I actually took this today (the last day of March) just in case I didn't want to use it for Fine Arts and then I could use it for free study. I know this has been done before, but I had this idea for an Alice in Wonderland shot, my girl sort of looks like her and loves the movie. The frame just seemed like a good way to add an element of interest to the shot.

Score prediction: Well I really like the shot, I think this is my favorite free study entry so far, so I have high hopes. I usually end up in the mid to high 5's for free study entries this one I am hoping to get above a 6, so I am hoping for a 6.2 or a bit higher.

I seem to be getting a lot of comments about it looking similar to other images. While that may be true the idea was original, I wanted Alice to appear to be coming into wonderland through the mirror(looking glass) I chose the setting because it had that sort of eerie feel of the forests in wonderland. In hindsight I think it would have been better to have the mirror up against a tree like she was coming out of the trunk. Oh well.

Good remake of this idea. Maybe it's the other photo I've seen, that makes me think that the area surrounding the frame should be warmer. Also the DOF, maybe the trees make it a little busy. But overall I like it a lot.

Not quite to the standard of the original. Nice idea though.

Clever image. Perhaps now overdone in the Flickr age but still you have mastered the technique and pulled off a story telling shot.

Reminds me of this:

It seems a bit too overprocessed for my tastes but it's still a very good photo.
