a meal of meal wormsby redpandaComment: If you cropped right in close to the worms (and excluded the bowl altogether) you would probably have an interesting abstract. Unfortunately, DPC voters tend not to like these kind of shots too much!! |

Life in monoby johnmComment: I can't put my finger on it because I think this shot should work and yet it doesn't quite, for me. I think it is because there are too many points of interest and therefore it loses focus, or rather direction. The seat on the left is perhaps the problem, and as I continue to look at it, I think that is what it is. Perhaps cropping it out would also reduce the flare from the lights and draw the eye more to the train. |

Lookin' Westby hillbilly_jeeperComment: Interesting lines in this shot but I can see no shadow detail at all on my monitor. Perhaps you wanted the total silhouette but I think there is too much black and a tighter crop would have benefited the shot. |

Worshipby ShaneBlakeComment: sadly the microphone blends with the singer's nose to look a little odd, but the rest is nice. I also find the tilt of the stained glass window to be distracting, caused I'm sure by tilting the camera up while shooting. |

The Prodigyby DefyTimeComment: I've tried these kind of shots before and they are hard to get right. I find the striped shirt a little distracting and the light is a bit harsh coming from above. If your cameral allows it, using a slow flash with a long exposure can be effective as it provided a sharp, in focus view of the hands in addition to some transparency and movement |

Preparing for Xmas...by gipomontesantoComment: I'm sure you will have heard this before but the lack of strong focus on any of the figures makes this rather weak - and yet it has potential. Try focussing on at least one area and getting it sharp |
