Sounds of the Undergroundby PixelstateComment: Thanks all for your comments...
I was on my way home from the office after a few beers when I grabbed this shot... forgetting to manage my exposure properly. Fortunately I shot in RAW and was able to produce this JPG. I actually had to compensate exposure by 2.5 stops!! (Kudos to the 20D for managing to produce a usable image at ISO800 with this amount of 'saving' applied)
I enjoyed this challenge and felt that this photo represented an improvement in my approach to photography. I actually waited and chose my moment with some thought and care and it paid off (to me at least) I tried to get a scene with a story, the passers by interacting with the busker. I was very happy to achieve this.
In answer to some of the comments regarding the lady in the distance. I was not particularly factoring her in to the shot, focusing mainly on the foreground interest but in my opinion she adds to the scene. (I would not clone her out)

Sudden Stormby GolferDDSComment: Nice workaround for lack of rain... the keen observer might have noticed the single line with the bend in it which might give away the 'cheat' I didn't notice that during voting but did think that the shot looked unnatural (i.e. I haven't seen a buttefly sit still in a downpur before!)
Great work! |

Pretty In Pinkby funkinComment: Hmmm.. thought this would have done better myself.. perhaps our Jay Kay has not made it BIG in the USA yet... this is a great photo considering the subject, not so easy to get a close up shot as it would be at a local village fete event! ;-)

Trial of strength :)by letuananhComment: This entry and your photography in general is fantastic. I particularly like the fact that 4 people voted this a 10 for a 'live music' challenge which just goes to show how good a picture it is!
I look forward to seeing more of your photography in future challenges.
Regards

Sunshine and showersby PixelstateComment: Thanks all for the votes and comments. Cheated on the rain, used a hosepipe to simulate the drops. Shutter speed of 1/60 to great the streaks.. |

Anthemby JinjitComment: motion blur is distracting and I think this pushes the envelope of live 'music' a little too far... |
