Wowsers !!! This shot has a lot going on that I really like about it. Where to begin? This is hard to compose a comment, as I am very compelled to keep looking at the photo. It seems almost hypnotic. Cool. Let's see, the composition overall is awesome, it would almost seem at first glance to be too busy for the challenge, but everything works together so craftfully to take the viewers attention to the main subject, the die. The presentation is vibrant, the brightly colored rings, the highly contrasting black and white, the shapes and patterns, the leading lines, wow. On a large scale, the designs form like a giant arrow, leading the eye to the "bullseye", where dead center is...the DIE. This is excellant, I'd love to hear how you set up and executed this photo. Truly brilliant, IMO. (if you can't tell, I really like this, a lot)

Ahhh, what a beautiful shot. Dead spot on for the challenge. Definitely stands out among the entries, not just another negative space, or something against an empty sky. A very pleasant scene that is easy on the eye, and provides good context for the main subject, and allows for the horse to nicely grab the viewers attention. I also like how your composition allows your subject a little room to breath, I have seen for some reason many entries where the subjects have been framed very tight in the corners. Great focus here also, another thing I have noticed through this challenge, many blurry subjects. I like your job on b/w conversion also. The photo has a nice tone/feel to it. Like I said, beautiful. Hope you finish well in the challenge. Great job.

This is a nice shot. I like the tones of the photo. Excellant choice for having the boy silhouetted. Definitely fits the challenge like a glove IMO. The composition is good except...I'm wondering if it could be stronger were the boy angled "in" to the photo? The reason I say this is that, as I study the pic, I find that my attention is for sure drawn directly to your subject, the boy, but then with his stance and the pole I find my eye wanting to wander off the photo in that direction. What I'm thinking, and I could be wrong, is that if he were facing "into" the scene, that as my eye tried to follow the angle "into" the shot, I would be drawn back to the subject due to the contrasting dark silhouette. Hope that makes sense :-) Nice job.

I find this a refreshingly original and creative take on this challenge. I hope people give it more that just a momentary glance. The immediate response is "Oh this poor unknowing soul has gone and entered a full frame macro of a flower", but allowing a moment to take in the whole shot, I am pleasantly surprised and realize how craftfully the photog has used dof, rot and color to present the real subject within the subject, the (sorry, I'm not up on my flora terminology) I believe those are the flowers reproductive parts? (pistol or stymen maybe??? now I'm really showing my ignorance :-) ) I believe you've hit the challenge dead on, and a very nice composition here.

I really like your composition here. A very nice choice. Wonderful use of a vanishing point. The eye is lead very nicely to your subject. Dead spot on for this challenge IMO, and a photo that stands on it's own outside the challenge also. My only put off at all, and it is very slight, is it seems just a touch too dark. As I say, only slight, perhaps that is your intent to set the mood. I'm wondering if just a tad boost with maybe brightness or levels or curves would be a minor improvement? Maybe not, I still really like the shot. Nice work.

What a beautiful photo. I really like this. The composition is unique and very "fresh". I also like the high key look. I think though, that what strikes me the most is what you've captured in her look. Those eyes! I feel an urge to turn away, as if that gaze can penetrate to the depths of my soul. If this were in a challenge, I would think it could be a top contender. Very, very nice !!! :-)

This is a great concept. I really like the idea. Focus seems like it could be a tad sharper. I'm not sure if I'm crazy about all the white space, seems a little harsh. I'm wondering if maybe it would make for a stronger shot with a perspective showing more of the board?

This is a good idea. An interesting backdrop that does make the hurdle stand out. I'm thinking that maybe the shot would be stronger though if the hurdle were not so tight in the corner, seems to need a little space to breath.

Nice shot.Nice dof, the background is blurred enough to focus the attention on your subject, the cat, but not too much to lose the overall "story" of the shot. Good composition. Nice job.
