And, maybe it is what you were going for, but I find the bright sun hot spot and the blown out grass unappealing. |

The setting feels very cluttered, and the background rather bland, except for the bright red door, which seems like kind of a major distraction. Something in focus would be a big help also. |

I feel in this case the movement blur is not working. The setting seems like it could be interesting, but again in this case, this particular composition, it just seems busy and cluttered to me. A simpler background, with the subject static and focused, and show that phone more prominently, you might really be on to something. |

I remember those well :-) I think that if more of the hand were showing, so it was more readily obvious, you might be really on to something. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 08/11/2005 02:49:04 AM | 1915(boy´s don´t play with dolls)by TUBORGComment: Nice image. I'm thinking that the little black across bottom and all the black at the top don't seem to be serving any purpose. Doesn't seem to add balance or good negative space at all. Maybe a tighter crop would make for a stronger presentation. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 08/10/2005 02:57:21 AM | Western Life Styleby vascComment: The scene is a nice setting, but there are some points that are lacking. As mentioned, there are lines formed by the trees and road, but they take you out into the photo, and there is nothing there. In the dof here, the focus point seems to be on the car in the lower right corner, which is partially cut off, doesn't come off as well planned or composed, showing all of that car (since it is the focus point) may be stronger. Possibly some tweaking in editing or changing the white balance setting could help, there is an off yellowish overcast from the street light. Also the big bright street light in the middle of the photo is a bit of a distracting element. And lastly, this was for the 'Affluence' challenge, for many voters, the scene would appear to be of a pretty typical street and very average looking cars, doesn't really convey the idea of affluence very strongly. This may be 'affluential' to you, but you have to remember, this is a very international audience here, and to many voters, to get a high score you have to really nail the theme if you wish to score highly. You seem to have a good eye though, just keep shooting, participate here, study the comments you receive, get forum feedback, keep at it, I'm sure you'll do well in the future :-) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
