chairby arsenalComment: I like this concept. And I REALLY like the lighting, a lot. Might be interesting to take this same concept, and pull back a little on the shot. For one thing, it takes a little bit (just a little bit) of the power of the presentation away to see the foot of the chair cut off in the framing. But mainly, I think pulling out some, would strengthen the 'presence' of the negative space, and give more weight to the mood of the image. I see a sense of loneliness, and emptiness in the shot, I'm thinking added weight of the empty space and scale could really heighten that sense. Nice shot. :-) |

throw-me-a-line.jpgby clictacameraComment: Very good 'action' shot here. Great clarity and composed nicely. Tells a good story. I really like how you've captured the curves of the rope, shows the action well. Nice job :-) |

I'm talking bout the bus in the mirrorby clictacameraComment: Very cool shot here. I love that reflection. What a great eye, awesome find. The bus, in it's yellow color and all, just really stands out great as the subject here. The shot is composed nicely. One thing you might want to try, if you have editing software that can do it, is to do just a slight rotation and straighten out the 'horizon'. It might make this great shot even greater :-) It is a really great shot, I like it. Nice job. |

native influenceby clictacameraComment: Great job on the 5th place !!! Awesome job. That is one of the most creatively carved pumpkins I've ever seen. The shot is nice. Great lighting, very good detail, and composed nicely. Well done, and well deserved :-) |

Johnny On The Spotby SJCarterComment: hehe, Pretty cool shot :-) I really like the tone here, has a great feel and suits the image well. Really nice, interesting presentation of a 'crappy' subject ;-) hehehe. I like it. I have actually thought of wanting to do a shot like this, but, we just don't have quaint, charming, cool outhouses like that around these parts :-P Some parts almost look on the verge of being oversharpened, but that may just be due to personal taste. Nice job. |

Reflections of Autumnby SJCarterComment: Nice strong composition. Love the colors. I've seen similar shots, I really like the whimsical feel of having several leaves like you have done here as opposed to just one floating leaf. Really good take on a classic theme :-) |

Wraithby SJCarterComment: Awesome shot Jimmy. The processing is really cool, did you use a filter? The lighting is great, I like how the image fades into the darkness. Yes, very eery feeling, great mood in the shot. I also like the narrow crop, I think it works well for the image. The centered comp here works well, it looks good. It might be cool to do a version with the subject framed to the side looking into the darkness too. And the title is very fitting. This probably would have done well in the challenge. Really cool shot. |
