This is a great image -- I gave it a 7. I like the textures and tones of the feathers. I might have gone gone a little more dramatic with the processing. Maybe convert it to black and white, darken it and given it a vignette would have given it a more ominous, crazy mood.

This is not just a beautiful tree, but a stunning image of it. I was intrigued by your photo and description of the tree, so I googled "Ponthus' beech" and looked at many other photographer's attempts to capture its beauty. There were many great shots of it, but I certainly found none better than yours. Congratulations on the blue ribbon.
