The Amityville horrorby crayonComment: Love the concept, but find the tone a tad too dark. I can fully appreciate the fact the the darkness is what makes the image, but there is not enough distinction between the various artifacts. |

Geometryby FalcComment: I have just begun voting, but I am confident this will score really well in the challenge. A truly awesome display of talent in a variety of fields, not the least of which, is photography. This in my humble opinion should ribbon.

Housework makes me blueby shamrockComment: Hmmmmmmmmmm seems my comments were cut off. What I had wanted to say was that I truly liked this shot.
Unlike some who found the image "boring", I found the simplicity simply stunning. Taking a photo of a pristine venue and getting the audience to share your love of the image is, in most instances a relatively easy task.
What you have done here is take a very ordinary item, and display it in a striking manner.
This was one of my favorite photos in the competition, and well deserving the placement it got.
The very best to you in your future endeavours.

Dreaming of Yesterdayby RikkiComment: This is a particularly poignant image... one that reminds me of the countless number of similar souls I have encountered over the years. One can almost feel the pain this individual has experienced simply by gazing at his eyes.
Very moving image.......you have done well in revealing the soul.

unpluggedby RikkiComment: Fantastic photo, and truly in keeping with the challenge topic.
I do fear however that you may suffer a low score due to the possibility that some of the voters may not take a great deal of time to take a really close look at images.
I voted this quite highly by the way. Keep up the good work.

sun-feb-19-121.jpgby Rando D300Comment: A truly superb capture. Only wish I could do something like that. I may call on you at some occasion and ask you to share information about your settings.
Truly very very nice.

Grade School Memoriesby SDWComment: You are absolutely right... the photo does not warrant the lower scores, of one, two and three. I found that the presence of the young man in the photo didn't add to the image, and found the white behind him truly distracting.
I would have preferred a different perspective on this image where only the broken portion, and the background wall were in view.
Notwitstanding this, I did like it enough to score it a 7.

Returning from the huntby jbsmithanaComment: When I first saw this photo, I thought my eyes were acting up a tad, as what I saw was for the most part of out of focus. While I did indeed appreciate the ducks being out of focus, as they were not the primary issue of consideration, I did not understand the soft focus on the bird and the branches.
I like the idea of the blue hue to denote the cold (the little you get of it in WA... :O) - but I would have cropped it differently, leaving the bird at the extreme left edge of the image.
All factors considered, and knowing from personal experience how difficult it is to capture wild birds... you did relatively well. I gave it a middle of the road score.
