The Thinkerby KaveyComment: This is fascinating... I'd love to see this place in person some day! Really nice textures and shapes in this image...the one distraction is the shadow coming across the bottom right diagonal, but it doesn't detract from the image. I think the title is perfect. Well done! :) |

Sun Kissedby smilebig4me1xComment: Now this lighting experiment is really nice. The backlighting gives a unique perspective, a mood, and shows the textures of the petals as well as the colors. Keep the experimenting up...you're doing an outstanding job!! :) |

Soapwort Flowerby smilebig4me1xComment: I agree with the first commenter about the background...it does enhance the color of the petals! I do think that an additional tiny bit of light that would help separate the flower from the background would really enhance an already lovely picture. As it stands, it appears to be just a little bit flat or one-dimensional. Light is what really brings the different levels and planes in a picture to the viewer's attention. It is wonderful that you are experimenting with it and getting better all the time! I need to do that. I get lazy and do very few "studio" kinds of shots because lighting is my weakest area. Beautiful work! |

reflections1.jpgby tasha4pawsComment: Your colors and the reflection are really nice here. Such a peaceful and serene scene! I might suggest a bit of dodge/burn on the clouds and some enhancement of the blues in the sky to really make it pop. Also, the composition, nice as it is, could really be enhanced if you take a step back and to the left...create a tiny bit more of a diagonal that moves throughout the frame with the fence rather than stopping near the center. Kind of based on the principal of the golden spiral. A good article that covers this principal is located at //www.acdsystems.com/English/Community/ColumnsArticles/PhotoTips/photo-2005-04-09.htm and can really make a beautiful scene into a awe-inspiring "wow" shot. All that being said, it's still a very nice picture with lots of potential. :o) |

Looking into the Future.jpgby artvetComment: I'm a sucker for a good silhouette shot...and this is no exception. The framing is beautiful. I can almost hear the words unspoken. Very nice. :) |

IMG_3266.jpgby dwterryComment: What a study in scope and place in the universe...how small we are, even if we are trees, in comparison to the world around us. That's what I see when I look at this. :o) |

IMG_3458.jpgby dwterryComment: What beautiful pastels...I'd give anything to be there about now! I'd clone out the tiny branch on the upper right side, but other than that, wow...it's gorgeous! :o) |

IMG_3446-01.jpgby dwterryComment: Wow...this even gives a sense of being on the Serengeti plains or whatever that's called in Africa...lovely, especially with the flare! :) |
