Airplane Commingby chad_ecComment: I confess I am an airplane enthusiast and a pilot, so maybe this will appeal to me more than to others. But I thought this was a superb capture. I like the smoke with the aircraft coming straight towards me. Looking at the angle of the wings, it is clearly an aerobatic aircraft (Is that a Rusian Yak?) The photo has another aspect which I like very much ... it is as interesting as a thumbnail as it is full size. In any event, it is among my top picks. Well done! |

Monopolizing the Electronsby M.O.C.Comment: Superb! So many lightning photos under expose the sky. Not so here. I love the detail I can see in the clouds. Colors and focus are very very good. Well done. Among my top picks. |

autumn's hollowby melodeeComment: What a wonderful photo. Composition is virtually perfect. I like the leading lines and how they lead to a mysterious part of the photo. The dark "destination" is nicely framed by the lighter foliage. Well done. Among my top picks. |

Playing in the Leavesby vonautschComment: I'm normally not a big "cute baby picture" fan, but I'll make an exception here because this is so well done. Congratulations on a great capture. Among my top picks. |

Sinsationsby danderson107Comment: Yours is a photo that started just above the middle of the pack in my voting. But each time I looked at it, I appreciated more the simplicity of line, the strength of the foregound/background composition, the composition, the lighting ... and what the photo left to the imagination. By the end of the day, it is among my top picks. Well done! If it were me, I might have cropped out the bottom 5-10 pixels to further strengthen what's left to the imagination. |

Oasisby bkctComment: Normally I would have given this photo a 1 simply because it is so small that I can't see any detail clearly. Instead I have ranked it among my top picks because of how well it conveys the atmosphere of the location. Well done ... but imagine how much better it might be larger ... assuming the detail would stand up at 640 x 480. |

The Fortressby DamianComment: This is a dramatic image which conveys a couple different notions of strength to me. The violent but transient strength of a storm. The more permanent but passive strength of a structure. And the neat part, what will happen when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object? I love that the structure and the storm seem to be leaning towards each other. Great photo. Among my top picks. |

Camellia (Christmas Rose)by MattOComment: Very nice image. Color, composition, focus, DOF combine to rank it among my top picks and certainly the best of its genre. If the DOF were slightly deeper, I might have liked it even more ... but then I'd have to give it an 11. |

Melbourne's world 2005by djoyobisonoComment: I like the perspective you've achieved on this vibrant city. You've done a very good job capturing the energy of Melbourne. Well done and among my top picks. I think I would like it even better if it were a bit bigger. The detail might not have held up, but if it remained sharp at 640 x 422, I would have liked it even beter. |

The big raceby eirasiComment: Terrific image. Very vibrant. Lots of energy. Focus, plus DOF blur, plus motion blur are brilliant. Well done. Among my top picks. |
