Martin Schoeller. German Born Insperation.by Canadian_ehComment: Composition is similar to Schoeller's although not portrait which is more common. Plain face with lots of character works well and in style. Missing catch lights I see in the eyes of Schoeller's work. Focus and sharpness is a little off. All this sounds negative ... and I don't mean it to. It is among my top picks in spite of the critique. |

el`e·men'tal : John Paul Caponigroby RikkiComment: This seems to me to be a nice tribute photo to the photographer but representative of only a small part of his work. I like the drama, and I like the contrasty nature of the photo. Otherwise, it's a bit overprocessed for my taste. Don't let my POV trouble you. It's a great photo and I hope it does well inthe voting. |

Alstroemeria & Rock (Katinka Matson)by tcmartinComment: Not an especially well known photographer (at least to me) but it's a lovely photo which seems to have some roots in the photographer's work. Composition, lighting, focus DOF anr all well executed. I like the triangle formed by the blossoms and the rock. Black background works well. Thanks. |

warmth from within (winogrand)by jdjhammerComment: This is a very good photo and I gave it a good score. But it doesn't seem very representative of Winogrand's work that I can find on the internet. |

'Fading in Defeat' ~ Walter Wickby glad2badadComment: Some of Walter Wick's best work is his surrealist art/photography. This is an excellent tribute photo in that style. My congratulations to you on conceiving, and executing such a fine photo. Among my top picks! |

Chiaroscuro (Mapplethorpe.org/portraits.html)by DrAchooComment: Excellent tribute photo in the style of the photographer. It's probably not the style that's the most (in)famous but true nonetheless. Well conceived, composed and executed. Love the expression on modle's face and the way you've cuaght it. |

Pepper No. 31 (Weston)by myceliumComment: A fine tribute photo in the style of Weston. Well conceived. Well composed. Well executed, especially the texture. Conveys well the sense of mystery I associate with Weston. Thanks. |
