Out of the Ashesby PtmanComment: If you were trying to show the greenery coming "out of the ashes" a lower angle might have been more effective. There's a neat photo here and it might have been more effective without the log in the foreground. It sort of breaks up a nice vertical arrangement of lines established by the standing trees. |

Flowerby Title9Comment: Nice for a card or print, but photojournalism, I'm not sure. I wouldn't rule it out, however, depending on the story it went with or the publication it would go into. |

Colorado Drought 2002by vtruanComment: Illustrates the concept, but a more horizontal angle showing more expanse might have been more effective. |

phew.. thank God they invented this machine...by bayuComment: This might have been more effective with less of the shadow in the foreground and closer cropping at the top, getting rid of the shadow (or whatever it is protruding into the shot in the upper left. |

Low Tech Travelby paganiniComment: Good idea, but it seems that the subject of the picture in the foreground needs to stand out from the background more. It just sort of blends in and the eye is pulled away by the background skyline. Composition and focus are nice. |

By the Seaby TerryGeeComment: Good. Title was a little misleading----however I didn't take that into consideration when I voted. The composition and simplicity are effective. |

ima sleep now k?by fstreamzComment: Background seems distracting in upper left corner. Possibly closer cropping could have emphasized the subject more. |
