Washboard Fallsby mikearsComment: Great location for a shoot... too bad the focus is on the log in front. Composition could use some work--I don't think the log or the foreground rock add anything here. (5) |

52 minutes of nightby chrispComment: Cool shot, great colors--really a shame about the noise. NeatImage would have helped a lot. (6) |

Washington Monumentby treyvusComment: Great spot for a shot--would have been an excellent candidate for HDR to keep detail in the monument and get detail in the trees. Also, the color balance is very warm; could have used a bit of cooling. (6) |

A face in the rockby JohannesFrankComment: Cool photo and interesting processing. It's difficult for me to see, though, how this demonstrates use of a long exposure. |

McDougall Church by CitadelComment: Way to go! You rocked it with this one. You snagged first place, blasted your old PB out of the water, and let's not forget, produced a serene and eloquently understated photograph in the process! Congratulations on your blue. |

One Way To Heavenby J-MeComment: As it happens, I do think before I comment, and I thought before I commented on this photo, too. There is no indication in this photo that the main entrance to the church is downhill, nor of what the arrow is pointing to. The arrow is, in fact, pointing down the hill and out of the frame. Combine this inarguable point with your title and the implications--although evidently not what you intended--are clear. I might suggest that you think about the possible interpretations of your photographs before you submit them. You could also consider taking comments with a grain of salt. |

Half way up the stairs is the place where I sit...by vawendyComment: Second Citadel's comment. This is the way HDR SHOULD be used--to keep detail where it would otherwise be lost, not to make everything look like it's made out of velvet. I gave you a 7. The only thing I didn't like about this photo was that I found the title implausible--I don't think I'd be comfortable sitting in that position for more than about two minutes. Does your daughter actually read books there..? |

Vangoghesqueby maggiedddComment: Such beautiful tones in this photo. If you've a mind to produce any more with this color/tonal palette, I'd love to see them. |
