Hamilton, Ontario is the self-proclaimed "Waterfalls Capital of the World", with the most number of waterfalls within it's city limits. This particular shot is of 'Washboard Falls'. I was hoping to get a good long-exposure shot of this with this contest. It was about 8:30 at night so the light was kind of limiting to begin with.

I used the tripod with a 2 second exposure (I think). I tried a number of different compositions, but I settled on this with the rock and the log being of some interest as well.

Editing:
- I boosted the saturation of green to bring out the leaves at the top.
- I fiddle with the white color a bit.
- There was a string or something, on the log just past the big rock - I cloned that out.

I guess one of the self-criticisms of this shot is that the upper left seems to have some leaves that are out of focus.

I find the log quite distracting in this shot, however I like the contrast of green on black with the leaves

That's a fascinating fallen tree. I think maybe too much so that it takes the eye away from the true subject of long exposure. When I look at one I want to dart to the other.
I like the title.

Great location for a shoot... too bad the focus is on the log in front. Composition could use some work--I don't think the log or the foreground rock add anything here. (5)
