Follow the Sunby JutildaComment: Judging by the date on the last comment, it's been a while since someone stopped by to remind you that this shot is lovely. I really like its dreamy feel; the ball of light above the flower is wonderful, and the title is perfect. |

Osteospermum (African daisy)by patio127Comment: Agreed--the asymmetry adds a lot to this one, and gives you the benefit of much stronger leading lines than you would have had otherwise. |

Another Leafhopperby MaryOComment: I was going to comment on the framing even before I saw Kobba's comment--it's really unusual and quite effective. Nice work. |

Bumblebee (Bombus Latreille, 1802)by GiorgioBaruffiComment: Crisp and clean--you've got a really good thing going here. I like the naturalistic treatment you're giving these; it's more appealing to me than the hypersaturation that seems fairly common for macro bug shots (at least those that end up in challenges). |

Jun 20 - Knittingby hajekaComment: Nice work. I think you chose the focal plane well. It seems fairly rare to make macro photography into something illustrative like this--macros don't usually portray activity so much--but you've pulled it off well here. |

Mysteryby patio127Comment: I think this is my favorite of the photos in your Macros collection. The colors are great, the DOF is spot on, and the composition really works. The radial white petals work really well as leading lines and draw the eye right to the focal point. Nice work. |

Another Weirdest Bug Contestantby MaryOComment: Wow, what a truly bizarre-looking little creature. This fella would look equally at home in an underwater scene. Are the little white tufts a part of him? Great catch. |

Lyristes plebejus (was: I dont'know what is it...)by GiorgioBaruffiComment: Yeah, this guy really is delightfully unattractive. What makes him interesting to me is that his wings almost look like they're on upside down. Nice crisp capture, and it looks like you did a good job of compensating for the bright flowers and preventing them from letting the rest of the image get underexposed. |
