Innocenceby bennettjamieComment: Generally good exposure and DOF; however, the grimace fails to charm. Also, what in the world is going on with her feet? I'm trying to figure out why her left leg appears to be on backwards. |

Flaming June by Lord F. Leightonby beafliesComment: There's a great deal to like about this painterly photograph, but the face is rather dark and soft, and the highlight on the right of the chair is quite distracting. |

spirits by ursulaComment: I just figured out how you got that very particular lighting effect. How perfect. |

Mosaicby bucketComment: Glad to see, however belatedly, an entry from you. I hope you'll keep playing the DPC game. |

what you lookin atby DeniseComment: Gorgeous! I love the deep rich tones. The overall soft focus lends an air of abstraction that works for me. Any way you could tone down the two bright petals a bit? I think that would make this image even stronger. |

A Captivating Readby hawkeyefilmsComment: Coming back to comment after reading this post. I didn't see the face either--I saw a curious arrangement of books, but it didn't resolve into any structure for me. I gave you a 6 for what appeared to be deliberate weirdness; you'd have gotten more points from me for better sharpness in the areas of interest and for more careful lighting with less of a yellow cast. |

curveby ursulaComment: Ursula, I would not have guessed this was you. I enjoy being surprised by photographers whose work I admire and who have a style that is often recognizable. |

Copper and Concreteby CoryComment: I gave you a 6 for technical merit and for its standing out as, e.g., not another picture of a flower or bug. But to me it lacked much depth or contrast; the crack and splotch could be interesting elements but weren't really present enough to add much. Reading your comments now, this photo does somewhat come across as a "pretty much all I could think of" kind of image. Cheers, I still love ya. |

I am Aloneby cryanComment: Photo is very strong; nicely composed and exposed, although there are some hot spots at the edge of the clouds nearest the sun. Topically and with reference to your title, I think this would be stronger if there were only one chair. |
