Me in the chair, so could not have done this without Phillip my awesome guy. My B-day is in June so I took a liking to this image when I saw it on Craigslist and now it hangs by the bed. I had been thinking about reproducing this for some time. It turned out to be an interesting effort and learning process. This was a lot of work!! The most time consuming part was finding the right material for the orange 'dress'. There's nothing like it in this town. Organza is too stiff and not drapey enough, just slips and slithers around. Everything drapey enough was not transparent enough. I'm guessing the original was a very thin raw silk. They didn't have that anywhere here, and certainly not in orange! So I got some gauze by the yard and Rit dyed it.
this chair doesn't totally fit as identical but I think it fits the form of the structure. I knew about the distracting highlight on the chair arm, but, didn't see it till editing and efforts looked too faked. Then ran out of time.
The alternate version

Great stuff, bea. You convey well the soft dreamy look of the original. I think the black frame is redundant.

I have always loved and gave a print of flaming June to a friend of mine named June. I think you have paid great homage to the original in this wonderful rendition.

wonderful rendering of this image - the tones are right on the money, I just wonder if the levels could be adjusted just a bit to give it more life

There's a great deal to like about this painterly photograph, but the face is rather dark and soft, and the highlight on the right of the chair is quite distracting.
