Room with a Viewby CalliopeKelComment: the window on the left could have used a little more breathing room. and i think you could have tightened up on the right a bit, too. |

Windowsby typologicComment: This is an amazing picture that would surely place in a free study - but I can't understand the link to this challenge. In a free study, I'd give this a 9, but for "Naturally Framed" it looks like a 6. |

let goby VinceDossComment: the out-of-focus focal point (the grey rectangle in the concrete thing) in the context of the bright crisp foliage makes this picture very strange. (6) |

No Bull No Gloryby TessComment: what is the intended focal point of this photograph? I can't tell if it's his face, the straw, his hand, or the bull. |

Hope you gave that gorgeous cat a good belly rub after you took his picture.

Hahah. Yes, my toes were not very popular. When I saw your comment, I giggled a bit to myself over the effects that anonymity during voting can have. But I like this picture, even if it finished in the 10th percentile!!!!!
The kitty is well loved on a frequent basis, so don't worry about that :) Thanks for commenting! |

what eating rocks will get youby myceliumComment: Originally posted by goodman: this is great, think it would have scored higher

just guessing |
you could be right. this is definitely not the sort of thing that DPC voters tend to smile on.
I think you're right that it would have been less unappealing in B/W... but then again, it would never be beautiful. I think the yellows enhance the sort of nasty ghoulish effect... and since this picture couldn't be pretty if it tried, I figured I might as well go for the strongest impact possible (even if not a pleasant one). |
