Red, white & blueby pacpintoComment: on the monitor I'm using, that pin is very much orange... doesn't change the effectiveness/contrastiness of the image, but it makes me think you should check your color calibration (either that, or I should!) |

Cruise Controlby SkipComment: good title. the motion blur is very good, but the bottom of the frame is fully lacking interest... leaving this photo feeling unbalanced |

Band: Ask The Slaveby egillbjarkiComment: this picture is technically excellent in every way--composition, lighting, exposure, focus--but my reaction to it does not exceed disinterest. it feels emotionally sterile |

broom vendor by whiteroomComment: powerful, haunting, incredibly effective photography. this man looks like he was built of leather. textures in the skin and beard are amazing. if this doesn't finish in the top ten, I will sacrifice three goats |

Watchingby MikeOComment: that's pretty ferocious... I like this picture for its abstract gritty effectiveness, though I fear this is not the kind of photography that tends to score well in challenges. If this doesn't finish as strongly as you'd like, despair not--it's a good photograph, regardless of what the voters think. |

Pacificby NitinComment: colors and textures are lovely-- I think this would have been more powerful if you cropped the sky out, as well as some off the right and a little bit off the left and bottom, focusing on the rocks and surf. |

Feeling The Jazzby frumoazniculComment: wow, what a capture! I imagine you'll hear from people who like the blur on the hands and those that don't--personally, I'd prefer sharp hands, but indeed I think that no matter which way you went there would me mixed reactions. The expression on his face is magnificently expressive, and the details in the beard just make the shot. I hope this places well. |
