enjoying my morning tea while watching the nice view from my balconyby violetaComment: this picture is really interesting to me. looking at it from the standpoint of a portrait, one might say that the strong vertical lines in the background are hopelessly distracting from the model - but I think this is merely the wrong way to look at this. Because the lines are such a strong design element, they almost become more the subject than the girl herself, which creates a very graphic-design feel to it. the background vibrates with the foreground and flattens it in a way, which leaves the whole photo as the "subject" without any real "background" elements.
