Dedicated to herby alexgarciaComment: I'm afraid I can't get over the title here. The way I look at a picture is this - first a quick glance at the image, barely more than a determination of basic composition and color use. and then I look at the title, and then back to the image, and try to relate them. Here I just can't figure out how the title relates to the image. What is the object of dedication? Is it the bicycle in the foreground? The bridge in the background? The whole scene? The photograph itself - or its contents? (5) |

Beach peopleby StructorComment: friggin' fabulous. I love pictures that make effective use of people as graphic elements. You've done that masterfully here. I hope this gets all it deserves (which, in my book, is a very high 6 at the minimum!) |

Shah Alam - Blue Mosqueby henry_buckleComment: beautiful space. love the cool blues, whites, grays. the photo feels really empty to me (i guess because it is) - I feel like something in the foreground in the mid-lower left would have provided a useful visual anchor. |

Bloop!by JackoComment: quite the bloop. I'm sure the technical side of this was challenging - I've tried shots like this myself, and I was amazed at how hard it was (a) to control the location of the drop, (b) properly set the focal plane, (c) time the exposure, and (d) get adequate light. the only thing that detracts for me is the centered composition; the drops are just right of center, but I think for this kind of photo you'd be better off sticking with the more traditional rule of thirds. the way it is now, this picture makes me feel like there should be something else going on in all that empty green space, and the light texture of the background isn't enough; careful placement of line and shape is the key to controlling the wandering eye. |

The Chinese Tunnel Workersby Robot-FotomatComment: I love that they both have these deep crow's feet around their eyes... that despite they live the hard lives of laborers, they know how to laugh. This looks like the kind of picture that gibun might take. |

Illuminationby xuan768Comment: wow, what an amazing candle setup. what this photo really makes me curious about more than anything else is the wax collected in the bottom... what kind of patterns does it form? how much is there? there's a lot of mystery in this photo. |

Domino Sugar Cubes Ad Gone Wrongby literaryradicalComment: This is really an awesome picture. It's bold and different and I applaud you for having the courage to enter it - and I'm glad you did. See all those 1's you got? Knee-jerk reactions - in a way, you can be proud of those instinctively low votes, because you've taken people (waaay) outside of their comfort zone. I think that is one of the most valuable ends of photography: make people see and think about things that they wouldn't usually. You have accomplished that well in this image. My congratulations. |

The Fast and the Furiousby samanwarComment: I guess you must have selected the background and added a zoom blur? however you achieved this effect, it's brilliant - the head-on view of the bird couldn't have been better emphasized. obviously you are also very quick with your camera! I'm certain I would have missed this shot if I were in your place. Very well done. |
