Purple serves this strongly graphic image well. The crisscrossing cables evoke a stylized group of trees, and it's easy to see the scene as an abstract. Nicely rhythmic.

In a distant, or not so distant, future there are only machines bristling with activity across the planet, as seems depicted here. Such a possible scenario is strongly depicted here. Maybe they'll be kinder than us.

More than the novel view from above, what elevates (pardon) the image is the assured composition and the appreciation of the terrain. The car and the writing in the sand surely help.

I like how, as photographed, the trestle is like an afterthought amid the lacy woods. As are the tracks, too, it is subsumed in nature's profusion. A compelling perspective.

The bridge can be taken in in a glance as one revels in the beauty that opens up along the canal. Wonderful time of day. The blurred cloud streaks are a fanfare, sink into the moment it declaims. The light is beautifully expressed. Thanks for sharing the magic.

War of the Palatinate Succession

Looks like a painting from the nineteenth century, a celebration of the dawning of the industrial era (maybe a bit late, but who's counting). The mainly yellow, brown and black palette is somehow made to seem gaudy. What then elevates this image, at least in my eyes, is the reflection of the fireworks display in the water. It's been transformed into a sea creature, a dragon or a fish from the deepest abyss. It's a wink, a nod to those who see past the pomp.

The original bridge

Strong, moody image that seems to be out of a dark fairy tale. Fascinating how this simple bridge, as seen by the photographer, can be so marvelously transformed. The sky reflected in the water seems to be painted from the imagination. The smoke, or vapor, issuing from him (or so I've assumed) is a further bridge to the clouds. His looming stance adds to the ominous feeling. Not done in a documentary style, it's an illustration in an ancient book.
