watching movies with the sound offby PennyStreetComment: An urban landscape. Is this Bryant Park in Manhattan, behind the 42nd St. Main Library? Though I could be way off. It feels doleful, like an absence of nature, but I think that's just personal subjectivity. I like the smorgasbord of tones and the contrast between the sodded lawn and the fussily rectilinear bank of buildings in the background. |

LOSTby SDWComment: The stump lends an elegiac tone to this otherwise luxuriant forest, suggesting threats that are afoot. |

His favourite placeby EnlightenedComment: Simple and touching, as I believe it's meant to be. The snow is crisp and pure, the birches glow with life and the darker trees are history. |

in the meadowby grahamgatorComment: The foremost focus on the delicate flowers is like an offering of candy. The soft background functions as a plush platter. All in all this is very pretty. |

Loess Hills Farmby namComment: A pleasing, orderly, bucolic landscape that offers its viewers a comfortable interlude in the country. The composition and lines are impeccable. Very satisfying. |

Storm Tossed Streamby PenelopeKComment: A focused study of a locale that in another image in the challenge was a much more expansive landscape. Here we can pay attention to the pleasing contrast between the blues and the honey browns. The rocks stabilize the bank so that it doesn't up and ramble off, like the animal it so resembles. Very nice. |

Jemezby franktheyankComment: There's something harmonious and peaceful about this seemingly busy landscape. I think it has to do with the distribution of colors and the delicately balanced composition. It's a fine earthy evocation of the arid west. |

A dull dayby SaraRComment: These oh so strange sheep seem to be an alien colony hidden in a notch in a rugged Shangri-La. I appreciate the wild depth of this landscape. I also like how the foggy blur of the background bears a semblance to the sky. |
