105 Years Old and 5 days Oldby cynthiannComment: Nice portrait of them in this magical moment. It's wonderful how bright-eyed the elder gentleman is, tenderly touching life to life. The blurred vignette is a bit strong, but certainly effective in drawing attention to the heart of the image. Good photograph of time itself. |

memoriesby mrbig65Comment: The memories here are dimmed and festive, hence the poignant mood I sense. Here is a congenial rendition of a difficult phenomenon to bring to life, and it's done in an interesting manner. It can almost be seen as a brain scan displaying neurons and synapses. I like the darkness that often enshrouds our memories. Evocative. |

The beauty withinby herfotomanComment: A clever way to portray "the beauty within", both the bird within the branches and the red feathers within the bird's wing. The way a good part of the bird itself is hidden also serves the title well. Funny how we often determine beauty, with flash often figuring in so heavily. A photo that creates space for contemplation. |

Behind the Photographerby the_rkpComment: Very nice composition here, the bulk of the photographer balanced by the spindly structure and walkway, connected by the water. You've enabled the viewer to feel the blustery day, which is always a sensual bonus. I like this image much more than most other images I've seen that include a photographer. |

Dominanceby illini75Comment: A beguiling pair. The dominance display of the zebras is gently echoed by the branches in the foreground. The toning gives the image a timeless feel, and maybe the persistence of dominance too. The inter-continuity of the striping is also fascinating and thought provoking. The image seems lavish. I've enjoyed moving the screen up and down to make the stripes shimmer. |

Before & Afterby nygoldComment: Young and old happily in tandem for the moment. This image seems to be about direction, the complex woven quality of life. What a good choice to take it at an intersection where we cross and make choices. In blues music crossroads are tremendously significant, and I sense such undertones here. I also like that though most of the people and left hand car are moving into space outside the photo, there is a long stretch ahead of the photographer and viewer for us to explore. Nice capture. |

rebootby MadMan2kComment: Interesting downward glance. The quiet mood is challenged by the extensive rippling, which appears to be caused by vibration -- maybe a precursor to an earthquake! Maybe not. I find it to be a meditative moment, peaceful and satisfying. |

Grazingby chazoeComment: Interesting low key display of bovine choreography. It's so distinct that it's a new presentation to me. The front five backs are almost a living fence, a palisade, enabling the other three to dance free of bounds. I don't really know what to make of it, as if meaning has to be teased out of an image to make it legitimate, so I'm content to accept and enjoy it on its very own terms. |

Toast or Music...No Photography Here.by NikonJebComment: Nice haphazard seeming surrealism. The noisy grain that thoroughly bespeckles the image actually reunifies the disparate elements and on this other level brings it full circle. |

eye levelby tvsometimeComment: This shot could have gone many ways, but I'm glad it took this intriguing, admirable road. I like the shallow focus on her profile. Her expression is Mona Lisa-ish. Her draped arm subtly leads the viewer in. As much as the image is about her and her ruminations, it's also about the car culture. I feel like I'm sitting in the back seat in a scene in the movie "American Grafitti". It's a privilege. |
