2.89 by MadMan2kComment: Mysteriously lit gas station that has the feel of a particular Edward Hopper painting. I would prefer it without the shadow hand, but certainly grant the horror movie effect. The bright light to the right is a distraction, but overall I think this is a very evocative image. |

For sale. Truck and caravan included if quick decision !by josaaComment: Pass. But I get your sense of urgency, of a hasty departure well in the past. Except for the vegetation, everything here is bleached, including the sky. There's a sense of not only abandonment, but of a draining of the lifeblood of this structure. I like the composition that expresses the downward slide of time. |

shyness by TiberiusComment: Though very much of a piece, for me the left and right halves of this image seem to be grafted together. It's my own shortcoming, not the picture's. I'm not making the leap of faith, of grace, that's needed. But I still feel that this is a terrific photo. |

Lostby DCrest01Comment: There's a clinical feel to this brought on by the sharp angles and edges, despite the evidence of dirt on the floor and a tattered ceiling. What makes this image for me is the overall iridescence. There's a sense of expectation here, as if the building itself is going to pull off some transformative miracle. Fine capture of this elusive atmosphere. |

Car Washby GeorgesBogaertComment: Evocative image allowing the viewer to choose hopefulness or poignancy. Well set up by the bland colors that frame the interior. The sunniness of the day just adds to the sense of being off balance. |

Jakeby clickodakComment: Reminds me of a beached whale. How many people must have lost their jobs when this closed. Like a depression era (1930's) documentary photograph, it just presents the fact for contemplation. Nicely framed by trees and sky. |

new usersby casdsrComment: Imaginative reuse of this bricked up brick building. |

When the Music Stopsby PennyStreetComment: The atmosphere, processing and focus give this building an air of lingering in the past, like a antebellum plantation. The overgrown fence cleverly transfers the sense of abandonment to the structure. A subtle memento. |

emptyby mrbig65Comment: The way the foundation is revealed gives the house a spherical appearance, furthered by the mouth revealed by the fallen plank. Kind of like a jack-o-lantern. The pink piece of clothing, as it looks like, provides a lingering touch. Has a fairy tale feel to it, which is very interesting. |
