Obscure sunby AmmieComment: Nice pastel tones and gradations in ironic service of the unsubtle - placing something in front of something else, in this case the sun. |

I see the lightby AbraComment: I like the two distinct areas that are lit up amid the inky darkness. That the image is taken in a tunnel, I believe, is a very subtle obscurity. Very interesting. |

Deadly in Pinkby NeilComment: Rather beautiful. Nice how the shallow depth of field that captures the spider in focus also spotlights a flower that is compositional magic. Puffs of cotton candy floating free in the breeze. |

Digging in the Gardenby westfordComment: Great closeup, great sleight of hand. You look and you find, with a smile. Straight-forward and amiably messy, but tender. Wonderfully detailed. Nice composition. Altogether enjoyable. |

Fleeingby glad2badadComment: Great title. Just the right amount of obscurity. It's about texture and depth of field, bokeh in service to theme. Surprisingly elegant.
Said elsewhere that I have three favorites in this challenge. Here's a fourth. |

1:13 Northboundby RKTComment: It's an exciting blur and I'll take your word for it, especially since there seen to be railroad tracks towards the bottom. The colors are vibrant and beautiful, and balance harmoniously. Quite artistic. |

Fernby LydiaComment: Terrifically in-your-face, yet still a surprise. Wonderful study. The tones and variety of greens in the ferns and mantis are lovely and satisfying. The black background capably sets it all off. Fine image.

steam & stormby Bear_MusicComment: Subtle and unsubtle at the same time. Stark without being too stark. A forceful, philosophical study of man and nature, outcome unknown. A nice amount of gloom. My favorite touch is how the tessellation of the towers' exterior is echoed in the heavy grain.

ambush babyby posthumousComment: After some effort searching, finally I saw the dog. I also saw the light, the dappling of which enables the excellent camouflage, which is also made possible by cunningly going black and white. The square format works well. Altogether, a winning, handsome image.
