swimby jmritzComment: I have some ideas of what's in the picture, and it's quite interesting and moving, but my comprehension is too tentative to also find it surreal. Though it probably is. |

midnight sunby mefnjComment: Interesting collection of objects; perhaps if they were nicely integrated a more surreal whole would arise. Just a subjective notion. |

Bby bvyComment: Mysterious and wide open for interpretation. I like all the different textures and the stark whiteness of the paper. |

Dead Vlei of the Westby hahn23Comment: These dead trees could certainly be imagined into life in accordance with their grotesque postures, giving this handsome black and white scene a boost of surrealism. I especially like the depth of field with its receding planes. I'm confused about the word "vlei." Googling it offers a meaning of a shallow, minor and often transient pond or marsh. Maybe I'm missing something. |

Targeted: Pretty Pressureby WarbyComment: Surreal in giving the everyday its comeuppance. I'm appreciating this image more on the second go-round because it's so interesting how the swan-like neck and made up head uncoil out of the shawl -- cobra, will-o-the-wisp, ascending angel? And what's the hair dryer for, or has it already served its purpose? Questions proliferate. Very nice. |

quicksilver bouquetby skewsmeComment: Wonderful title. Delicate, otherworldly and brimming with weird enchantment. Very original and distinct from the other entries. Kind of primeval as well. Where are we? |

fitby mrbig65Comment: Not sure what's going on here -- baked apple and cinnamon sticks? -- but that's really neither here nor there. What counts is the sumptuously toned trajectory of imagination and the worthwhile sense of mystery imparted. Bravo! |
