Lovely scene promising, as the sun settles towards dusk, the calm of evening and night. The light is tender and embracing. The structure where the fence terminates playfully suggests a window or door, but the viewer simply enters into the vista unencumbered and wholeheartedly.

One can really feel the quiet and calm epitomized in this tucked away scene. The woman, concentrated on her work, is perfectly revealed, picked out by the diffused light in the street or alleyway. The sense of depth is pleasing. Entirely charming and endearing.

Both quiet and dramatic, as it's hard to tell what this man is feeling in this scene of lovely, balanced contrasts. He's so shadowed that he's as much a suggestion as a focal point, which makes this image so moving and intriguing. Very fine.

Terrific recipe for that quiet moment - low clouds drifting through the trees and soft reflections on calm water, a unifying monotone gently vignetted and a poetic title. Add a dash of eternity and there you have it.
Personal favorite of the challenge.

Very strong black and white. Nice rhythm to the high key presentation flowing from the darker lower right, echoed in the flow of water on the beach and in the ocean. The distant figures seem more imbued with quietude than were they closer, in my opinion, and despite the tension of nearby ominous, again in my opinion, industrialization.

Achingly beautiful, and my favorite in the challenge though I didn't leave comments. The mood and the moment are extraordinary, accomplished with such a minimal palette. It's a wonderful addition to your visual diary of the landscape of your days, so many of which have moved me.

There's the candid, but it's the composition that appeals, all those lines and angles. The bright orange box is distracting, in my opinion.

If that's a camera in his hand, this is a candid image of the making of a candid image. No sleight of hand, no mirrors. I like their kind of formal clothing and the imitation grown-up attitude. The background, though, is rather cumbersome.
