bustedby PennyStreetComment: He's alive, in the pleasant glow of wine, perhaps not the first glass. She's stone, sober and aloof. Interesting contrast that serves to heighten his humanity and vitality, a kind of tempus fugit moment. The composition is balanced visually and also in that the left side is lush (please, no pun intended) and warm, the right is sterile. Nice grain. Nice image. |

Peeling Potatoesby primabarbaraComment: Nice portrait of the bond here. Has a kind of medieval feel, a pleasant wrench (not wench!) out of time. Lovely intimacy. |

happy days by NeatComment: Fine capture. Draws you right into the mirth. That hand on the left looks like it sauntered over from the set of the Addams Family. |

Checkersby QuickClickMickComment: Nice portrait of concentration, during which the rest of the world fades away. I like the depth of field, especially how the the board gradually loses focus along the front to back diagonal. The prominence of the wrist watch seems to abet the sense of an instant in time -- a subjective take on the matter. |

The Photographerby JudiComment: Fortunately I lingered beyond my initial impression of oh, it's just a guy taking a selfie. I noticed his care, exactitude and concentration, and the fine detail of the foreground. But what then became apparent is the beauty of the out of focus background. I don't know if that's what you were going for, but I felt that the man was oblivious (not really fair because I have only this instant to analyze, but that's what it is) to the beauty around him in his self-centric pursuit of his own image. So now I more fully appreciate your fine effort. |

Happiness is ...by MaryOComment: A frame filled with happiness, who could ask for more? The people are shown so lovingly, and are tremendously endearing. Beyond the cuteness factors, it's just plainly an excellent photograph. |

Oblivious by LevTComment: Well done candid placed in a strong context of people whizzing by, while the young man multi-tasks. The foreground and background are also pleasing and interesting. Black and white works well in highlighting the stark visual and expository contrasts. |

The story of The Wallby GeorgesBogaertComment: Being a sucker for brick walls, this image immediately grabbed my attention. Okay, and now to absorb the story being offered. Are they really so disconnected? Is the half-fallen bicycle testament to such a reading? The composition is unusual but winning. The atmosphere seems hyper-realistic. Works well on several levels. |

something passing through by cutoutComment: This may be a candid moment, I can't really dig it out. In any case, frankly, I don't care because it's such an intriguing, evocative image. Wonderfully spooky. The green and purple tinges endow this being with poignant life. Beautiful and deeply satisfying. |

Everglowby EnjaykaybComment: Good title encompassing both the romantic red glow and the romantic emotional glow of the gathering. Also well-captured is the gentle sway in the atmosphere. Altogether enjoyable. |
