Delightful. It's such a fun and uplifting image. I love these women and the girl, quirky originals. The rain is no match for them. The square crop well suits the moment in time. I will enjoy looking at this again and again, so into my favorites it goes.

When this image popped up I thought, hold it a second, this is wonderful. In other words, hardly just a peek through the venetians. I'll go backwards -- the incredible vignette, the sun blasting through the rain-spattered window and the blinds harvesting the beautiful purples and oranges. I'm not sure the flags add anything additional to the image, but there they are. So much from, ostensibly, so little. Works really well with the square crop. Breathtaking.
Another personal favorite, along with "Road to Mordor."

What a fine, fine image. The grass and its reflections are both inviting and decoratively splendid, whether enjoyed as nature's endless inventiveness and beauty or as pure abstract. The water, its ripples and colors, is a delightful background no less becoming than the grasses. Truly enchanting.
I spent a pleasant 9 minutes listening to the title song by Yes, and can only surmise that it holds meaning for the artist (aside from the fish on the left).

The title nails it for me -- the endless wilderness, rugged and forbidding, and the road one must take. Lines wander every which way, adding complexity to the task. The colors are muted, but they're very compelling in support of the overall mood. The depth of field is spectacular, passing right through the middle of the image. The square crop assists in leading the eye into rather than out. Lot of detail and sharpness, the sharpness even being overdone to the extent that white lines hug the mountain edges.
Personal favorite of the challenge.

Could have garnered a higher rating from me -- everyone knows that overshot is the civilized way to deploy.

Exciting and interesting image. And after I'm done being mesmerized I love being able to explore the everyday world outside the tunnel.
As a bonus there's that neat effect at the far entrance when you rapidly shift the screen up and down.

Perhaps it's the top of a mall or store and so fits the title and the challenge. Which formally backs up my great appreciation for this almost abstract, processed beyond mere reality (whatever that is) and into the realm of dreams and second sight. The small kernel of sharpness gives lift to the rest of the image. The composition is elegant. Quite artistic.
Personal second favorite of the challenge.

Barber Shop, it says right up there, but offhand, and so you can then infer what's happening within, but subtly. And so it goes, a reluctant, beautiful flower coyly opening its petals in the night. This image is outside and inside, bright and dark, message and mood. I'm glad that it's in black and white, and not leveled. Even the obstructing car is really another curtain, and smoothly part of the scene. A gem of understatement.
