I See Dead Peopleby LydiaComment: Spooky, even scary, image. Young, pretty, pink hoodie, then wham, you're in a horror movie. Great juxtaposition. |

i talk to themby jmritzComment: Loved ones abide in memory, and in their pictures. They still will listen to you, and you to them. This diffuse image seems to be that place of intermingling, a renaissance of yesterdays. It has nicely assorted lights and darks, is oddly but effectively composed. Fine use of noise/grain to establish mood. |

Chimping with Greg by Art RoflmaoComment: Affectionate, evocative tribute. Just to be able to chat again is all that's desired, to be together. Greg seems just inches from actual, engaged and at ease. The fade is just enough to be tantalizing, the rolls in his sleeve intimate volume and presence. The overall detail furthers the illusion. The frame is full of light. Quietly moving. |

sisby oldbimmercoupeComment: A beautiful, ethereal image. It's set up so strongly, yet the delicacy of emotion draws us in all the more deeply. She's hardly apparent, a glow, a memory. The colors are warm and loving. Heartfelt is too weak a word. |

come back doggieby skewsmeComment: There's someone on the left who's leaning towards the dog, but it seems that this is about the dog and whoever's calling him or her from behind the fence. Or maybe I'm pushing my reading beyond the photographer's intention, and the dog is merely being called back by his or her owner. Anyway, it's the picture in the challenge that breaks my heart. There are several images that do a beautiful job of memorializing people, but this dog rushes at us like they do, full of love and eagerness. The title resonates deeply. The blur, the perspective and the action work harmoniously. Those of us who have or once had a dog....

Memories by gyabanComment: A fascinating tour de force that speaks for itself. I have some confusion, but perhaps that's a result of slapping rationality onto dream, myth. Is water the home state being left behind by the shattered woman? Could she be coming together? Is this a take on Orpheus and Eurydice? Maybe it's better to set thinking aside.
But this is fabulous. The disintegration, the yearning hands, the gorgeous blue and green, the textures, the mood -- all superb.

Sherpet by LydiaComment: A pretty tribute that also looks like a memorial flame. |
