image 1 of 3by instepsComment: This is for all three. The blacks are glorious, rich and total. The textures and disposition of light and dark are likewise compelling. There's a feeling of intimacy and concentration that link together you, the environment and the viewer. And they work together in such harmony as to suggest the passage of time, the winding ways of exploration. |

Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.by PennyStreetComment: Yes the images of children, especially Anita's glorious entry, are charming and endearing. Still, there is no less charm in the casual serendipity of this glint of sidewalk color, and its unexpected appearance. And we smile even more broadly to be in this world. |

Retirementby BenstedComment: This really fine - surreal, kooky, mysterious, a bit disturbing. Stimulating and fascinating. Love the washed out look, aside from the revelation within the binoculars. |

New York, New York! by LevTComment: That's an adroit montage of NYC that I appreciate, being from here and being used to so many images of this nighttime excitement that just don't get it right -- at least in my opinion. Thanks. |

Roadby McAuslandComment: A personal co-favorite. One of your nines. Beautifully meets the challenge. The foreshortening closes off the turning road and brings the mountains up close and daunting. The painterly effect works very well here because color takes precedence over detail, though not to say the details as they are aren't important and compelling. A strong, dramatic, lovely image.
I'm shocked that this photo has been so roundly unappreciated. Perhaps the processing has put many people off. Never mind, great stuff. |
