girlsby lei_73Comment: Sometimes it seems the environment brings life to the people inhabiting it, sometimes vice versa. This is vice versa. It's children who give themselves entirely to the moment, as here. At least most easily. And not to dismiss the flat open plain behind them. Here's where a camera can capture a transient instant so memory becomes a jewel. Beautifully found and done. |

Kimono Fabricby tamatamaComment: What a beautiful, wondrously joyous image! The colors alone are a treat. The swags of fabric on the lines across the waterway must dance deliriously in the breeze, and too bad we can't see it but in our imagination. The water is a pointillist reflection of the fabric, which in turn allows the ripples through in their translucence. Fine art, so enjoyable. |

The Shape of Things to Comeby PennyStreetComment: Even without the overhead paths of sunlight, this is a virtuosic performance. Those horizontal paths do seem like sunlight, and they serve to draw us into the sensuality of the day, the scene, the moment. They also bring out the dreaminess, the incompletion of the moment. I think both can obtain. The black and white processing is terrific. I love it all, but am especially drawn to the upper reaches of the image where what seem to be crowds stretch out to seeming infinity.

Shadows of the Bush by kasabaComment: A glimmer that conjures the whole. As if the whole is overwhelming, and it is. Can't say enough about elephants, words can't do them justice. That they're threatened by sordid desires can't be left unsaid at the moment. Here is a powerful tribute, or portrait, or poem, tones and form gathered in the opening notes of a symphony. Delivers the sense both of the monumental and the tenuous. The inkiness is astounding.

fetchedby NiallOTuamaComment: The bare bones central scene is strong and intriguing. All the surrounding foofaraw adds to the mood of mystery and displacement, and works well. Black and white carries the mood to its extreme. I like the blown out white expanse, as if a space ship has just lifted off. Message edited by author 2020-01-22 08:26:44. |

Renaissance Buzzardby MeMex2Comment: Saw your title and thought, "yes." She or he seems stylized, like an architectural embellishment on an old building. Or a heraldry element. There's dignity and repose here, and complex beauty to feathers and form. A noble head. Wonderful choice of background. Fine, engaging image. |

Illusionsby rgrenaderphotoComment: Terrific graphic explosion off the sun-drenched land, the energy pinwheel showing its inner atomic spirit. Beautifully imagined and executed. |

Winter Solstice Sunrise by ryant35Comment: The strong central placement of the tower is nicely softened by the sun close by at 45 degrees. The scattered birds have an appealing scratchy ink feel. I like the darkness of the water but for the sun's weak reflection. The orange sky is somewhat unworldly, a sci-fi twist. Fine stuff. |
