Carmela Violaby johnmComment: Nice color, and funny too. I wish the light had been less harsh, as I think it distracts somewhat from the fun expression. So this is a formal studio portrait, huh? I wonder what casual would look like? Sure is expressive, though! ;-) |

The Moon Studioby WildpurpleComment: OK, that's just scary. I admire your daring approach, but it's just too over the top for me. Not quite the "formal studio portrait" that I think many are expecting here. It might have worked better with a good exposure turned into a duotone, but this looks like it's reversed and solarized and the result is... well, weird. |

Send in the Clownsby Prime_TimeComment: Send in the light while you're at it. A very good concept, but wasted by poor lighting, and I don't feel like there's enough contrast between dark and light tones to pass as moody. The bright colors could have made a dazzling entry with more light in the room. The obvious artifacts around the hair and arms don't help, either. |

Veroniqueby sahkoComment: Good lighting, background and focus, and the exaggerated angle provides an interesting composition. Skin tines are a little hot, but not too bad. I wish she had a more more expressive look on her face, but that's about all I can criticize. A very good shot overall, Sahko. |

Didiby RoosterComment: One of my top picks. The light seems a little flat, and I'd like to see a more engaging expression, but still very well photographed. |

flirtaceous. by theodor38Comment: A little high-key, and I'm not generally a fan of subjects leading the viewer out of the frame. Oh... who am I kidding? My second-favorite of the bunch! Looks like you may finally get a ribbon Mehmet. Judging by your expression here, you already knew that, didn't you? Congrats! |

Funny Girl (my first portrait attempt)by BassieComment: Great expression. The light is somewhat dark at the bottom, and the focus is a little soft, but if this is your first attempt, you might want to consider a cereer in portraits. ;-) |

Wondering...by bruskiComment: Love those glassy eyes. The expression and composition are great. If the focus were sharper and there was a bit more color saturation, this would be one of my top three. Well worth framing for yourself! |

Annaby heidaComment: Well done! One of my favorites in this group. One of the few softly lit shots that work well, too. I wish there was a little more saturation in the color because the hair and eyes look like they could be quite rich. I like the drama of the dark areas, but I might have burned in the left background a bit to pull the balance away from the heavy right side. |
