Reflection on a Revolution in Transportationby ploogieaComment: Greetings from the Critique Club! :)
I love the title of this photo and the sepia tint works really well. I'm very impressed that you were able to pick up such a great reflection without getting your reflection as well.
Just a couple of things that I think would have helped make this a stronger shot. First...I think if you cropped more off the left side and bottom, (basically, just getting the wheel and not as much of the tire) it would make the reflection more of a focal point. Second...as I said earlier, I really like the sepia tint you've used, but I'm not as sure about the graininess. I think sepia with a sharp focus would have make a much stronger photo.
I think the concept is wonderful and just a couple of minor adjustments would have made this good photo great.
Good luck in future challenges!

mini transportationby AllenComment: Greetings from the Critique Club! :)
What a cute little truck! I love the contrast in the sizes of vehicles.
There are a couple of things I see here that are causing some problems. First...the photo has a snapshot quality to it. While that's not always a bad thing, the challenge is to make photos that don't really feel like snapshots. Second...the background of your photo has a lot going on in it and it is distracting from your subject.
I was thinking that another way this could be photographed is to have all the trucks lined up with this little guy at the end of the line. You would still be able to show the contrast of sizes and it would make the subject stand out more. It would also show some planning with regard to composition and therefore, less snapshot-ish.
Just a couple of suggestions you may want to think about. I hope they help.
Good luck in future challenges!

Right of Wayby FiverComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
First, let me say congratulations on the Top 20 finish! This is a great shot!
The saturation of colors is very nice, but almost to the point of hurting the eyes and the focus seems a bit soft on the sign and the nose of the plane.
I can appreciate how difficult it was to get this shot. Waiting about a half second longer before shooting would probably have given us the whole plane, but I don't think the missing tail section detracts too much from the shot.
All in all, I think this is a great shot and one of which you should be proud.
Good luck in future challenges!

shooting down swirling rapidsby kenboComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
I quite like this photo. I think it's very interesting and it clearly fits the challenge.
I think the sepia tint works very well for this image making it look like it was taken in another age. I have mixed feelings about how the photo is cropped. I like the crop because I think it shows the vastness of the mountains and river, however, i do agree that cropping some off the top of the photo would have made it follow the Rule of Thirds more closely. Just enough cropping to take the sky out of the shot would make it a much more powerful photo.
I see some digital noise in the photo, but sometimes that can be hard to avoid. You may try using a program like Neat Image (a free trial can be downloaded). While Neat Image is overused and can lead to unnatural looking photos, it does help with the noise.
All in all, I think this is a very good photo in need of just a couple of minor adjustments.
Good luck in future challenges!
