Greetings from the Critique Club :)

I quite like this photo. I think it's very interesting and it clearly fits the challenge.

I think the sepia tint works very well for this image making it look like it was taken in another age. I have mixed feelings about how the photo is cropped. I like the crop because I think it shows the vastness of the mountains and river, however, i do agree that cropping some off the top of the photo would have made it follow the Rule of Thirds more closely. Just enough cropping to take the sky out of the shot would make it a much more powerful photo.

I see some digital noise in the photo, but sometimes that can be hard to avoid. You may try using a program like Neat Image (a free trial can be downloaded). While Neat Image is overused and can lead to unnatural looking photos, it does help with the noise.

All in all, I think this is a very good photo in need of just a couple of minor adjustments.

Good luck in future challenges!

Sher :)

What a bird's eye view! You've included too much background in this shot, (IMO) and the little boat gets lost as our eyes are draw to the mountains and the line where the water meets the shore. A tighter crop that placed your subject somewhere that conformed with the rule of thirds might have yielded a more effective photograph for you! :) (just my two cents, I claim no special knowledge!)

Very nice tonal range; sepia adds a nice feel to the shot.

I think I would prefer this in color - things are blending together a bit here, and I think the sepia tone is the culprit. Interesting choice - very original. Love the movement that the water shows.

i like the idea you were using for this picture. i think that there is to much background to it though it takes away from the boat.

Very nice composition. I wonder what if this wasn't monochrome but apparently this is a choice using it.

the color tones work great here and you
achieved beautiful contrast and sharpness.
Well done !

interesting and has atmosphere, but do feel that it could benefit from cropping the top, probably to put the departing river at the top third of the screen.
