Plain Perspectiveby SimonjwComment: despite the very modern subject matter, I'm sure Ansel would have approved! Only suggestion is that perhaps the horizon should be less central vertically |

Adobeby DPC-SystemComment: Zonally, this runs counter to most images in the challenge as light is the key here although you have skillfully included the other end of the spectrum to balance the image. Excellent composition here which sets it apart from much of he competition. Top 5 |

a photograph is made, not taken.by fstopopenComment: One of only two 10s
Truly spooky in a Sleepy Hollow way. Fantastic detail on the bark. I really don't find the lack of detail in the rolling landscape behind as it only enhances the mood. Burning has ben artistically done..especially the hill in the apex of the arch which makes an eye and pulls the eye in a clever fashion. I think, in truth, Ansel didn't delve into melancholy like this, but that's defintiely our gain here. Added to favourites. |

A Tribute to the Legend 1902-1984by GringoComment: One of only two 10s
Composition:great central focus framed by the two peaks - a sense of isolation and three dimensions.
Post-Proc.: Tonally very dark but detail maintained skillfully...just enough light to balance mood. Sharpening high but not too much. Exceptional burning on peaks.
Overall, reminds me of a highly detailed lithograph. A gem. Added to favourites. |

Sunset Waveby SondaComment: This is joyously luminous except for the repair job on the top wave. Great effort |

Rocky Mountain Winterby dwterryComment: Getting close to the real deal although the clouds look as though they have been burnt to hide overexposure |

Buffalo Dreamsby EricSorenWComment: From the looks of it, this would have converted to B/W very well with interesting tones in the fur. As it is, you are going against the tide of opinion. |

Pacific Vistaby ZoomdakComment: Fantastic image in its own right but the tones in the top half look very 'middle zoney' if that's a correct phrase. I wonder if the big difference between the two halves would appear less if you cropped away sokme more of the foreground rocks? |
