This is an awesome action shot! I like the composition, and you froze the action nicely. I think it needs a bit more brightness though. The whitewater just doesn't look white enough to me.

The photo illustrates a powerful story in a simple and graphic way. That's a very good thing because what to say and how to say it is often 90% of the battle. I think you nailed that part down nicely. Obviously, the highlights are over-exposed, but the high contrast side lighting was a very good choice as it adds drama and complements with the subject. A bit more work with the lighting might have paid off in a big way.
