With a jet engine or three running in the background, planes are never silent places. That aside, this is pretty well done. I usually get some movemement blur.

I had a very similar thought, but our church is simpler and not quite such a good picture. I hope you don't get killed for the religious symbolism. Lighting is great, as are the colors. Also, this is one of the places I think of as being the msot peaceful and quiet (any church, not this one specifically.) Best of luck.

I'm having trouble understanding why a picture of a politician giving a speech (even a plastic one) makes me think about silence. He could use a little more focus.

Small DOF focused on the face would have helped this a lot by blurring out the background. Colors and sharpness are excellent.

This relies too much on the title to get it into the challenge objective. Technique: a little over exposed on the skin highlights. Capturing the smoke curls works very well for this picture.
