Very well done, with great choice of background, and good work on the hair and facial hair. Those streaks of grey on a young guy add real interest and the impression of experience, and you caught them perfectly. The model (who I seem to recognize?) helped you a lot with a perfect fun loving expression to offset the experience.

The only thing I might think about changing is your crop. If you moved him to the right, and let him look offscreen by looking across an empty white frame, it might feel like he had more space. But this is a small suggestion. This is an exceptionally well done portrait.

She must really like you because she looks a bit bored, and tired of "participating" in DPC. That said, you did a great job on this image. Lighting is perfect, hair, makeup, simple clothing to focus attention on your model, and great background. -9 for a great piece of work.

I gave this a ten because the subject was so strong emotionally right now, and the lighting is nearly perfect. The pose and setting are also great for the subject matter. This is my top pick of the challenge.

In terms of making it slightly stronger, I might have cropped a little tighter, as the negative space helps, but you have to tradeoff close up of facial expression to get the space, and I think you could give back a little space, maintain the great effect you achieved, and still get a little larger facial area. Just a thought.

I thought you were fine on the challenge (speaking both as a runner and observer), just thought it was a little busy. I would have cropped tighter to focus on the people waiting and the runners, because that is where the whole waiting story is.

I thought the border distracted, and I think cghubbel was right about the POV. Without the title, I thought he was waiting for the game to start, so I wrong, but it was still waiting. The other thing I thought was just a bit too much sky/trees, as they distracted a bit from the setting/subject combination.

All that said though, just because I didn't think it was great for the competition, I did think it was a nice picture.
