the audienceby ineedauniquenameComment: I just love an image with an umbrella. This might be cool with a black and white conversion too. The white fence would really pop out. :) |

still have some years leftby libertyComment: Heh, I get that look from my 15 year old all the time. LOL Not a huge fan of the wide gold frame. I like the perspective. |

Greenlandic Nightsby surlybiffComment: This is much more about the sky than the guy but since we can't see it really big, that's not your fault. |

portby tph1Comment: Love the artful approach but this, to me, isn't a portrait, which should be all about the face. |

My mother by svavaComment: I LOVE the fact that she's in a 60's style chair, which was probably when she was in her hayday. The purse is a nice touch too although it does create a bit of a light reflection. It's not enough to dissuade me from really loving it. We don't often see older people in portraits, so that makes me like it this much more. She has such a sense of resolve. Congrats to you (and her). I like it. 8 |

forgottenby jbrobesonComment: What makes this really work for me is the out of kilter old window to her right. It offsets it and makes it less typical, since she's centered perfectly in the shot. Love the shadow on the floor. Looks almost like a top hat. Nice. 8 |

After Dinner Pursuitsby meneleComment: Terrific. I love the lighting and the simple black and white. His leg is perfectly parallel with the bottom of the page, and the chair cushion's lines. Nicely done. I think the untied bow really adds, as it is a shape against the white shirt, that we aren't expecting in the shot. 8 |

Life as a Teenby SiouxComment: With so much going on around him with the chair, the old building and the fallen lumber on the ground, with so many colors, I think a high contrast black and white would have suited it better. Our eye is jumping around the page trying to find a place to rest. I hope that makes sense. Just my opinion anyway, which doesn't account for much these days. LOL Good luck!! 6 |
