ROFL. So glad to see another funny birthday one. Mine is getting lambasted but at least your guy is blowing out candles. This is really funny and almost looks like it was taken in the 60's. I love the glasses. The lighting and shadow isn't "good photography" particularly, but works for this whimsical shot. Really fun. Thanks for the chuckle. 7

Great detailing in the kitty's eyes. Very well done with the close up. I like his gaze- just like he's thinking of someone far away. The whiskers are tack sharp as is the rest of the facial features. All animals - extra point. hee hee 8

Interresting DOF. The single light part of the rose is a nice touch. I like the overal dark tone of it. This could work for anniversary, birthday, just general as well. I usually don't like centered subject matter, but this one seems to work.

If you ever read my comments, you'll know I adore bicycles and this is certainly one of them. The subtle tones and the guys' shirt being the same as the water really works. I love the stopped movement. Perfect for the category you chose. Really nicely done. He's looking off into the sea, thinking of the person he misses. GOOD JOB

I see lots of flowers against a black background, but these two gerbera daisies really stand out to me. I think the orange frame helps this along with the same color orange. This is tack sharp and the composition is spot on. I love the single stem pushing up and out to give the eye an line to follow in the shot. Great lighting too. This could also work for anniversary as it is two blooms! One of my favorites.

This is lovely. The whole scene has a velvety feel to it and yet it's tack sharp. The green tones with a touch of blue here and there is just wonderful. I like that you are down on the level of the rocks, so that the water is coming right "over you." The composition is done so well and the natural frame of the trees is perfect. Really nicely done.

This image is a hoot. I think the category title is a bit specific, as I thought we were supposed to use a general category, but no biggie. The shot is wonderful. I love the detail of his woolly coat. The light helps highlight that and the "in your face" sense is hilarious. I think "Hi" or "What's New?" Might've worked better, but that's just me. In a perfect set up, the other sheep wouldn't have been behind him, but in the setting, I'm sure that's not possible. Really fun and imaginative.
